How to choose a POS and business management system in Kuwait
Choose a system by testing your real workflow, not by counting features. A grocery store, a supplier and a service business can need different tools. Use the same sample transactions to compare each candidate, including AlTijara.

1. Write down the work the system must handle
List checkout, stock receiving, purchasing, supplier balances, customer credit, returns and reporting. Identify must-haves before the demonstration. Ask which industry workflows are supported today; do not assume a retail product includes restaurant kitchens, manufacturing or service scheduling.
2. Test Kuwait checkout details
Check KWD amounts and three-decimal precision, English and Arabic screens, barcode scanning, receipts and day closing. Try a held cart, split payment, refund and customer credit sale. Ask whether KNET is an actual payment integration or only a record of payments taken on a separate terminal.
3. Follow a product from purchase to return
Receive a partial supplier delivery, sell part of it, return an item and record damaged stock. Check quantities, purchase cost, cost visibility and the supplier balance afterwards. If batch numbers, expiry alerts or serial tracking matter, request a live demonstration rather than assuming they exist.
4. Check permissions, branches and connectivity
Test what a cashier can see and change, who approves exceptions and how branch records are separated. Disconnect the internet during a demonstration and ask what can actually be saved. AlTijara currently requires connectivity to save transactions; verify scanner and printer compatibility with the devices you will use.
5. Ask about reporting, data access and support
Review example sales and financial reports with your accountant and agree how opening balances will be entered. Confirm what exports are available, how you obtain your data when leaving, and who handles onboarding and support. If official reporting acceptance matters, verify the exact supported format and portal requirements; a draft XBRL export is not proof of Taqeed acceptance.
6. Compare total cost and run a pilot
Include subscription, hardware, payment-provider charges, training and any setup fees. Confirm renewal and cancellation terms in writing. Trial a typical trading period with a small team, reconcile stock and payments, then expand when the results match. AlTijara offers monthly and annual subscriptions; confirm the current price and suitability with the team.
Questions about this workflow
Should I choose the cheapest subscription?
Compare the full cost and the workflows you need. A lower fee can still be poor value if staff must maintain essential records manually.
What should an AlTijara demonstration prove?
Test your barcode checkout, inventory receiving, supplier records, permissions and day closing. Confirm any requirements outside those workflows before committing.
